the premise of this album is that transformation is possible. it frees the known to dare into the unknown. home stories is hainbachs fourth release on seil records. it displays an uncompromising approach to sonic world-building and explorative ambient music. the majority of home stories was recorded in the black forest, the artists old home, but the album is far from a reflection on the past. it is about the changes this area has seen and more importantly, about transformation in general. as humans have always been changing the landscapes - for better or worse - hainbach takes a tentative listen to what can be found in taking the well-known and changing it to the uncanny. thus the piano, which often serves as a compositional root sound and familiar element changes over the course of the tracks, is abstracted, re-synthesized, shaped into abstract forms, and relocated to physically impossible places. produced & mixed by hainbach. mastered by salz mastering artwork by nasa design by aoki & matsumoto

reissue - k-hand, the undisputed -first lady- of detroit house and techno, continues her series of rereleases for some of acacia records most sought after catalog. acacia s reputation as music from a well known place to an unknown destination precedes it with a reach that is once again being expanded upon. originally making its mark in 1993, -not giving up- is a piano chord led number with eccentric disco era falsetto vocals interspersed between a house diva counterpart, all undercut by equally classic rough around the edges low end - touching on hand s influences from the new york golden days. the plastic dream mix is a more sinister springboard of sounds with an urgent energy sure to rip through speaker stacks and leave audiences in shreds. easily its dreamiest incarnation, the disco dream adaptation lends itself to bouncier, filtered grooves and vocal dubs. the ghetto growl of -beat that bitch wit a stick- was and still remains a huge track for k-hand and the label. pulling from a sound that originated in chicago, it became equally prominent in detroit through the work of hand and others. its accompanied here by an instrumental version for those that don t share in the street logic, but nonetheless love the gritty production style. finally, the legendary claude young s mix of - deep down 2- sees him implementing wavering chords and loopy vocals with a purposefully loose nyc stutter

iperborea (in english hyperborea) is a legendary land, home of the also mythical people of the hyperboreans. in the myths of greek religion, the hyperboreans were a people who lived in a distant land to the north of greece. this region was a perfect country, illuminated by the shining sun for six months of the year. the ep opens with the track -nuda veritas-, characterized by sound textures that recall an aquatic and evanescent environment, giving the track a charge of mystery and the unknown. then the journey goes to -iperborea-, which gives the album its title, there are strong references to the power of the sun and the mythical people of the hyperboreans. the first is given by the constant presence of a modulated niose that simulates the solar wind, that is a flow of particles emitted by the sun. on the other hand, the reference to the mythical people is made through a pressing and epic groove, and by the contrast of these two elements with a pad/stab synth that transits in the middle of the track. the latter outlines a dreamlike and suspended atmosphere that praises this distant and legendary land that was iperborea (hyperborea). among with these original tracks, the ep also containes remixes by scope and laertes. laertes’ rexmis is focused on soft and gentle mysterious mood while scope’s one is more focused on mysterious but powerful which makes audience imagine somewhat aspects of a destructive god. together they are making a perfect pair match for this ep>
